In the early 1950s, a few boys in the Rudeš neighborhood of Zagreb created a simple rag ball. Soon, a real frenzy arose, and football became the most important thing in their world.
Over the years, the small neighborhood club has made significant strides in the Croatian football scene, and today their blue and white jersey is easily recognizable by everyone.
FC Rudeš plays its home matches at Rudeš Stadium, which recently underwent a major renovation, and the club's facilities were also upgraded with modern amenities.
Challenge: Small capacities and slow programs of household appliances
The modernization of the laundry was inevitable as part of the 'makeover'.
The club used household appliances in the past, but they were not enough for their needs. Mr. Matej Mlakić, the club's technical director, emphasizes the need for a professional approach in their work:
"Household washing machines and dryers operated for 12 to 13 hours a day, leading to frequent breakdowns. Their small capacities and slow programs are not suitable for a football club," Mr. Matej stated.
"There are 30 players, who have two training sessions a day and everything has to be clean and dry by the next morning. Jerseys, cleats, tracksuits, socks,... - everything has to be ready," he emphasizes.
The players also have access to a modern gym, a physical therapy room, and cold baths for muscle recovery, all of which require numerous towels that must be washed and dried promptly.
